Job Title: Legal Assistant – Litigation
Job Summary:
Our client, a well known law firm in downtown Portland, is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant for their Litigation team to support 1-2 attorneys with legal research, document preparation, and administrative tasks. This role plays a critical part in advancing the firm's mission by providing key support in litigation matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research, draft memoranda, and proofread legal documents, ensuring accurate citations.
- Prepare and file court documents and correspondence.
- Manage administrative tasks, including scheduling meetings, coordinating travel, filing records, scanning, copying, and processing expense reports.
- Work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a legal assistant, ideally as part of a litigation team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven research abilities and familiarity with legal terminology.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to handle multiple projects efficiently.
