Overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced Systems Specialist to join their team. This role involves providing advanced technical support and performing administrative functions for a range of mission-critical systems. The successful candidate will handle local area networks, academic and operational systems, and work closely with the IT department to ensure smooth and efficient technology operations. The position requires a high level of judgment and independent work to troubleshoot, maintain, and enhance both hardware and software systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide phone, remote, and in-person technical support for local area networks, cloud-based systems, and user databases.
- Install, configure, and maintain both wired and wireless network infrastructures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with security equipment, hardware, operating systems, and email systems.
- Serve as the primary resource for ensuring data security policies are upheld and devices are protected against malicious activities.
- Conduct workshops and demonstrations to train staff on new systems and security protocols.
- Perform regular maintenance and backups to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Manage and resolve support desk tickets, collaborating with end-users for timely solutions.
- Stay up to date with the latest technology trends and perform research to recommend new systems that meet business needs.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of local area networks and network infrastructure.
- Ability to troubleshoot and maintain audiovisual systems, computer hardware, and operating systems.
- Experience with endpoint security management and data protection protocols.
- Strong customer service skills with experience in remote and in-person technical support.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to conduct training workshops.
- Valid driver's license.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Up to four years of experience in computer information systems or a related discipline.
- Relative experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
